Shearer Brothers Race Cars began over ten years ago as a part time business, with no greater goal than to enable my brother Phillip and I to pay for our first race car. As with many part time businesses, the work load at my hobby job soon interfered with my full time job. And so SBRC was born in earnest.

In the beginning SBRC mostly carried out street cars modifications. Mini tubs, engine, brake, diff and suspension conversions being the main source of our income. Back half and three quarter chassis sedans and modifications to existing drag race cars soon followed. Our first real opportunity to build a customer full chassis sedan was given to us when Graham Spencer took the leap of faith and contracted us to build him a new race car from the ground up. History shows that Spencer (aka Pumkin) went on to win the Nationals in his first few meetings. Since these humble beginnings we have assisted many customers to go onto set national records, win local and national events, with a national championship thrown in there too. The ride up until now, while bumpy has been fun.

Our goals unlike the race cars that we build have changed little over the years. At SBRC we strive to build the best, most reliable, most consistent race cars in the market place. Our approach to building race cars has differed from many, we have never been happy to follow the trends set by others. Doing so will at best only result in a good copy of someone else's ideas. All of our race cars are designed in house, we do not simply build a "copy cat" race car from a set of generic plans or worst still from what we think we see. Our cars are design to work, we understand what we are building and why we do things the way we do. This is not to say we are the smartest cookies in the jar. But we are amongst the hardest working.

The past several years have seen us develop a range of Altereds, front and rear motor Dragsters, along with our soon to be released Roadster. These race cars are designed and engineered to not simply look different from their counterparts, but to work with today's power levels and transmission technology. Our race cars are easy to drive, are ultra consistent, respond to tuning changes, and are made to ensure maintenance is as straight forward as possible. As racers ourselves we have spent the time and resources to come up with race cars with the features and functions that we ourselves would like. As an added bonus we have even made the stuff look cool too.
